Drum journey circles creates a sense of connectedness with Self and others through the art of rhythm and a meditative state by expressing inner images and sensory experiences to enter an altered state of consciousness in order to connect with the spiritual dimension of reality. In a society in which traditional family and community-based systems of support have become increasingly fragmented, drumming circles provides an opportunity to connect with your own spirit at a deeper level, and also to connect with a group of other like-minded people to share personal concerns & receive support for your own healing. We will meet once a month. This will be a space where we can release the need for results and allow this process to be a pathway for self-exploration and healing.

It is very fitting that we recognize our veterans and all they have done for our country. I facilitate a free Drum Journey Circle for military veterans alongside Jeff Beck LMFT, therapist at the Veterans Administration doing traditional rehabilitative treatments for people in military settings, and Frank Newman, advocate for veterans. Current research now shows the therapeutic effects of drumming reduces tension, anxiety, stress, releasing negative feelings, blockages and emotional trauma. Veterans who have post traumatic-stress disorder, physical wounds or struggles with substance abuse, because of the extreme conditions they had to survive, are able to reconnect with feelings; increase self-understanding; improve concentration and/or achieve a sense of relaxation during guided imagery. Drum Circles also provide an opportunity for participants to feel connected with others and gain a sense of interpersonal support. Group drumming alleviates self-centeredness, isolation and alienation. There are great benefits to feeling connected to others, especially those in similar situations. Drumming is a path of healing that guides us into experiencing the flow of our mind and emotions so we may grow to experience more about our soul by healing of the mind, body and spirit. Please join me in Reiki Certified Traditional Usui Practitioner Class. I began my journey being certified in the healing art of Reiki in the year 2000, these classes have affected my life profoundly in my spiritual and personal growth. Reiki is an amazing healing modality to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by the Reiki master and allow the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. Also, gives you a working system for healing yourself, your friends and your loved ones.
Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures. This healing technique is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us which is present in all living things.
